Jesus considered widow’s coin offering more than many offering made by wealthy. Actually Jesus is not talking not only about offering, but also of GOD’s blessing. In Deuteronomy 16:16-17 “No one should appear before the LORD empty handed: each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way LORD your GOD has blessed you,” commands Moses. See offering gift is about GOD’s blessing not man’s charity. GOD doesn’t need charity, He needs offering gifts in proportion to blessings bestowed on man’s work, wealth and family. Poor widow was no different from wealthy people because everyone is needy in sight of GOD who distributes blessings. There can be no boasting of any blessings because it’s not earned, but freely given by GOD. “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven,” preached John the Baptist in John3:27. Poor widow offered all coins instead of in proportion to two copper coins, while others offered only some portion instead of in proportion to blessings and some even gave less than in proportion.
